2008 State Meet

This year's state meet weather was nearly perfect for running, with cool temps and overcast. Heavy showers threatened all day but held off until all the course clean up was completed.

The girls team ran one of their best races of the season in finishing 4th and once again brought home a trophy. This was the 5th year in a row that the girls finished in the top 4. Kate Jamboretz and Sarah Olson ran to All State finishes in 11th and 15th, Kate for her second year in a row and Sarah for the fourth year, a feat very few girls can match.

Liz Ryan finished 24th, Evan Gustavsen 37th, Amanda Mosher 55th, Shay Woodhouse 58th and Jeannie Castell 70th.

The Boys team lead by 1st, 3rd, and 5th place finishes were a very good 2nd once again to Twin Falls, the Bruins packed their top 5 in the top 21 and defeated the Braves 78 to 97. This was the 5th consecutive year that the boys have placed in the top 3 at state.

In one of the most exciting State Meet races ever, Eric Fitzpatrick came from nearly 10 seconds behind with 800 meters to go and pulled away to an eleven second victory in 15:46.98. With the victory Eric defended the championship he won last year in Idaho Falls. Max Hardy finished 3rd and also broke 16 minutes running 15:59.42, he also nearly caught the 2nd place runner at the finish. Greg Montgomery once again ran a very solid race in placing 5th his time was a very good 16:05.24. The ever improving Joe Sandoval was the team's 4th scorer in 47th, The final team scorer was Kenton Freemuth in 53rd. Taylor Molenaar finished 54th, and finally Richard Wojan in 68th.
