2008 Caldwell Twilight Cross Country Invitational


Under clear and pleasant skies the Braves competed this week at Caldwell High School in their annual Twilight Cross Country meet.


Twenty four JV Girls toed the line and ran excellent races and won the team race with 42 points over Bishop Kelly and Mtn. View in second and third. Shay Woodhouse placed 2nd in only her 2nd cross country race ever, Jeannie Castell and Hannah Sandoval were 6th and 7th, followed by Julia Kemp in 10th, Mikayla Todd rounded out the scoring in 17th.

The JV Boys had 21 finishers, they were lead by Joe Sandoval in 5th, Walker Grimshaw was 7th, Sam Swanson 9th, Magnum Kincaid 11th and Henry Ross rounded out the scoring in 13th. The team scored 40 points and finished 2nd behind Mtn View.

The Varsity girls ran excellent races and finished 3rd behind Bishop Kelly and Kuna. Kate Jamboretz ran a great race and finished 2nd, running an improving race was Liz Ryan in  16th, also improving Evan Gustavsen was 20th, Ellen Mering ran a solid race in 23rd, roundin into shape Amanda Mosher was 36th, Caley Featherstone struggled to the finish with an injury but was running 10th until the injury slowed her.

The Varsity Boys team improved a great deal from last weeks' race and won the meet scoring only 32 points to Bishop Kelly's 89 in 2nd. Eric Fitzpatrick was 2nd again this week and was followed closely by Greg Montgomery in 3rd, and Max Hardy in 5th. Taylor Molenaar ran a excellent race in 9th with Christian Kincaid and Kenton Freemuth in 13th and 14th and finally Richard Wojan in 28th.

Next up for the team will be the Tiger Griz Invitational in Idaho Falls on Friday the 12th.
