2008 District 3 Cross Country Meet

Great running weather once again greeted the team for this years District meet, the JV Girls were first up, nearly every girl ran their Personal Best and those that didn't ran within just a few seconds of their best times. They were lead by Mary Corrick, Mikayla Todd and Connor Sheldon-Modrow in 17th, 18th and 19th, Hannah Sandoval was 21st, and Janis blaugher 26th to round out the team scoring. The JV Boys also ran very well as a team and finished 3rd behind Eagle and Mtn View. Christian Kincaid finally recovered from injury and illness was 7th, running break through races were Miles Ranck and Henry Ross in 9th and 10th, Sam Swanson was 14th, and running by far his best race of the season Nathen Showalter was 19th. The Varsity Girls ran perhaps their best races of the season, as a team they finished 4th and once again qualified for state. Kate Jamboretz ran 19:06 and was 5th, Sarah Olson ran a very brave race in 11th, Evan Gustavsen had a break through race in 19th Liz Ryan was a steady force in 21st, showing they have more to give were Amanda Mosher in 45th, and Shay Woodhouse in 46th and finally Jeannie Castell in 61st.

The Varsity Boys defended their championship defeating Mtn. View 61 to 69. Defending his title and setting a new course record of 15:29, Eric Fitzpatrick showed he will be the one to beat at state next week. Showing they will also be contenders Max Hardy was 2nd in 15:51 and Greg Montgomery 3rd in 15:53 for a very rare 1, 2, 3 sweep by the Braves. Running his best race of the season so far Taylor Molenaar placed 20th, Kenton Freemuth returned from illness and injury and lead the trio of himself, Richard Wojan and Joe Sandoval in 35th, 36th and 37th.
