2007 State Cross Country Meet
In a great display of team running the Brave Girls Cross Country team won the Idaho 5A State Championship for the 3rd year in a row! Leading the way for the team once again was junior Sarah Olson in 6th place, right behind her, senior Ann Lovelace in her final cross country race for Boise High, freshman Kate Jamboretz 9th, sophomore Katie Lovelace 18th, senior Jacque Sahlberg 26th, senior Fiona Wilhelm 31st and senior Rebecca Fusselman 41st.
The team scored 59 points for the victory, Eagle was 2nd with 97, 102 for Mtn View in 3rd and 103 for Highland in 4th.
The Boys team capped off a great season coming up just 3 points shy of the state title, 76 to 79 behind Twin Falls, Mtn View was 3rd with 103 and Borah 4th with 121 points.
Sophomore Eric Fitzpatrick became only the second Boise High boy runner to win the state cross country championship, the first was Danny Powell in 1992, junior Greg Montgomery finished 4th, junior Max Hardy 8th, sophomore Taylor Molenaar 38th, freshman Kenton Freemuth 39th, junior Christian Kincaid 51st and junior Walker Grimshaw 57th.
Next up for the runners is the Nike Team Nationals Northwest Regional on November 10th at Eagle Island State Park. They will run as the club team 'Boise Striders'. Both the girls and boys varsity runners will be running in the Championship race against some of the top teams in the region as well as the nation. The top two teams in the Championship race will earn invitations to the Nike Team Nationals to be held in Portland, Oregon on December 1st.
