2007 Jimmy Driscoll Invitational
Results
On a very warm and bright Saturday the Cross Country team had its first meet of the 2007 season while many members of the team weren't able to compete because of to few practices 25 members of the team made excellent efforts.
The JV girls did very well finishing 2nd as a team, Amanda Mosher3rd ran 1 minute 35 seconds faster than last year and Rebecca Fusselman 8th was 57 seconds faster! Conner Shelton 15th, Haley Willison 16th Janis Blaugher 23rd and Megan O'Neil 29 ran their first high school cross country races. Hannah Lawrence 19th had a tough time with the heat but did a good job of holding her pace. JV Girls results
The JV Boys didn't have a complete team but all four boys did a very good job, Austin Prohl 17th Max Delawyer 29th Jackson Reid 33rd and Drew Ross 61st all ran the course for the first time. JV Boys results
The Varsity Girls ran very smart races not going out to hard in the heat and letting the other teams set the early pace. They beat two excellent teams in Bishop Kelly and Eagle so should feel very good about their victory. Congrats to Anne Lovelace for her first win of the season, excellent races by Sarah Olson 3rd, Kate Jamboretz 5th running her first high school cross country race, Jacque Sahlberg 11th, Fiona Wilhelm 12th, Ellen Mering 15th and Katie Lovelace 19th.
The Girls team will attempt to defend the Caldwell Invitational championship they have won the past two years next week - Varsity Girls results
The Varsity Boys were paced by two excellent races by Max Hardy 1st and Eric Fitzpatrick 2nd. Max improved on a nearly identical course from last year by 57 seconds! He out kicked Eric for the victory in the excellent time of 16:34. Eric improved his time on the same course 1 minute 31 seconds! Walker Grimshaw 12th, had a great day as well improving his time 1 minute 14 seconds! First timers on the course, Taylor Molenaar 11th and Kenton Freemuth running his first high school cross country race in 22nd, continue to improve everyday and will really come on as the season progresses. Tim Ronan 16th is learning to make pain his friend and will improve a great deal by the end of the season. Seth Hull 38th put in a very good effort and will only get better as he runs more.
The team finished 2nd a mere 6 points behind Eagle but will improve on that as they will be at full strength next week - Varsity Boys results
