2007 Caldwell Invitational

Results

With temperatures soaring near 100 the Caldwell Invitational was held two hours later to avoid the heat. There was little success in that area as temps hardly subsided even when the boys ran after 8 o'clock in the evening.

The JV Girls really improved a great deal from last weeks meet; Rebecca Fusselman finished 7th, Haley Willison 16th , Connor Shelton 20th, Janis Blaugher 24th, Megan O'Neil 39th, Jasmine Wilhelm 43rd and Elizabeth Warner 48th. The team finished 3rd behind Bishop Kelly and Mtn View JV Girls results

The JV Boys made great progress this week. We had a complete team of boys running and they all gave great efforts. Sam Swanson lead the way in 8th, followed by Christian Kincaid 12th, Seth Hull 31st, Alex Unger 42nd, Austin Prohl 56th, Max Delawyer 59th, Jackson Reid 66th, Sean Hart 68th (Sean stepped in a hole and sprained her ankle during the race while running with Sam and Christian but gutted it out to finish!), and Jack Boren in 104th. As a team they finished 4th behind Mtn View, Borah and Bishop Kelly. JV Boys results

The Varsity Girls defended the championship they won last year with Bishop Kelly 2nd and Mtn View 3rd. In a great team finish Anne Lovelace was 2nd, Kate Jamboretz 3rd, Sarah Olson 4th, Katie Lovelace 14th, Ellen Mering 19th, Amanda Mosher 25th and Fiona Wilhelm 27th. Varsity Girls results

The Varsity Boys finished 2nd again this week and again a mere 6 points out of 1st. Eric Fitzpatrick and Max Hardy switched places this week with Eric pulling away in the last 800 meters to the win in 16:19, Max put on a great finishing kick to pass a Capital runner to secure 2nd, Greg Montgomery was 11th in his first race of the season, Taylor Molenaar improved a great deal in finishing 26th, Freshman Kenton Freemuth got over his first race jitters from last week and finished 30th, Walker Grimshaw was 33rd and Tim Ronan again improved to finish 40th. Next up for the team is the Military Reserve Run for the Pies, Saturday September 8th in Military Reserve Park. It promises to be a fun event with all the runners needing to bring a pie as their entry fee!
